Mohawk Fine Papers

Objective

Pentagram, a multi-disciplinary design firm commissioned Avatar New York to solve and create a search engine solution and content management system for Mohawk Papers and their affiliates.

Solution

MohawkPapers.com is the internet identity for the largest premium paper manufacturer in North America. Working with the best names in paper quality, Strathmore, Beckett and Mohawk Superfine, Mohawk Papers sought an effective content management system and indexing solution for their website and for their partners in the paper industry. Avatar New York devised a technology to make their website 100% indexable through Google.com, allowing easy accessibility to their current and future clientele. Using Avatar New York’s content management system, Mohawk Papers was able to provide their customers with a sophisticated Paper Selection Tool to assist in choosing quality papers based on job, weight, grade, finish, shade and even environmental specifications. Mohawk Papers is able to manage their whole internet content, despite the site being entirely in Flash. This gives Mohawk the duality of having great design and complete control over their site. This initial site led to implementation of the same technology for the aforementioned partners, in which Avatar was able to create the same solid solutions.

Results

With the introduction of the 3 additional sites, Mohawk Papers has added new revenue streams and decreased support costs through increased web orders. Implementing web sales has also allied with Mohawk’s mission to be a more environmentally sound company by saving in paper and power waste. Having a thorough site has also decreased cost for internal sales resources and increased information efficiency.
